bbq sauce

This is relatively easy to throw together while food is on the grill. I get excited when I see packaged, healthy-looking bbq sauces in stores but there’s usually an ingredient I don’t like (brown sugar, corn starch, etc…). So, I always come back to this recipe.

gluten free, dairy free, paleo, soy free, nut free, vegan 

bbq sauce
makes a lot (2 cups?)

• 1 tin tomato paste 
• 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
• 3-4 tbsp honey
• 1/4 cup tamari (wheat free soy sauce)
• 1 tbsp molasses
• 1 tbsp olive oil
• 2 garlic cloves
• 2 tsp chili powder
• 1 tsp paprika
• 1 tsp dry mustard
• salt & pepper

SAUTÉ 
2 finely chopped garlic cloves in 1 tbsp olive oil on low-med heat for a few minutes, turn heat down to lowest setting

ADD
remaining ingredients, and stir; remove from heat 

Done. Pour into a dish what you want to use on the raw meat and save remaining sauce for another meal, storing in the fridge in an air tight container.
