Glasses are made by cutting out two holes and attaching two pipe cleaners at either end (use scissors or paper clip to poke holes).
My 4 yr old got creative with the pipe cleaner arms, wrapping numerous pipe cleaners around each other.
The inside of the glasses even got coloured. She logged logged about an hour making these.
Bat. Cute.
Spiders.
Binoculars. Same thing here - attach string on either sides and use a piece of pipe cleaner to attach the two tubes together in the centre.
Furry feather things. No rules.
Lady bug.
Caterpillar.
A painted caterpillar – this one is still in the works. Going to get google-eyed and pipe cleaner-antennaes tomorrow once dry.
Last weekend's session. A skateboard and baby were chosen for still life drawings. My eldest chose to draw from her imagination that day...
...as usual, I drew them drawing.
They are never too young to fall in love with this activity...
...Let little ones move around as they please. They'll always come back and sit down. Monkey see, monkey do.
7 year old's Love OM drawing.
9 year olds' Chara OM drawing in 2014.
Drawing his ski goggles.
Last Thanksgiving in Collingwood, we took family drawing time to the country roads. "Lets go draw cows, kids!!!"
rest time
Family drawing time on the front lawn. Ella drawing in the hammock.
when you blow out eggs some will crack – use them for crafts (hide clay bunnies, chicks or, of course, eagles)
eco-colouring kits
green at top is matcha – you can see the effect if you don't rinse the goop off; bottom left and upper right rested in jagged egg cups full of dye; tape was used on others as initial and pattern decals
egg blowing kit
cut a paper towel roll for egg drying stands; don't remove elastics until colour is dry.
the most beautiful eggs are those wrapped with onion skin and cheese cloth
Your table will be good and messy with lots to keep them busy.
oil was added to this dye – also sticks were stuck through the holes with glue, so you can put them in a vase like a bouquet, kids love it.
I read you can add food or spices to boiled water, not boiling the food with the water. So I tested it here with blueberries. Both eggs soaked for maybe 10 minutes. Top egg in water that was boiled with blueberries. Bottom egg soaked in water that had the blueberries added after the water boiled, removing the blueberries after the water cooled to room temperature. Definitely boil the food with the water!
