Vanilla bean pod could also be used, or vanilla extract. My favourite brand of coconut milk.

Here, I've just added the second layer. I put it in the freezer just enough so that the first layer solidified enough to hold a second layer (approx 20 min).

For the second layer I simply poured some of the base mixture into a cup and smashed up fresh raspberries with a fork.

This would also work with regular popsicle moulds that don't have layers as the colours creates the layers (plus, as you can see my colours don't match up with the mould layers anyway!)

Always save the best till last.

The first night we transferred the minnows into their new fishbowl.

You'll notice the bowl is actually a bowl. Many traditional fish bowls are round with flat sides at the front and back, and a narrow opening at the top.

This wide opening at the top is much healthier for the fish.

The minnows survived for a good few days in this bug catcher.

Happy fish. Meet Silvy and Fisher.

We headed out to catch frogs on Mother's Day but came home with two minnows.

See. All prepared to catch frogs (this series of books are fantastic btw – see link at bottom).
